At Ventura Growth, we’re proud that our biannual summits have become a cherished company tradition. Why? It’s a time to celebrate our accomplishments, map out our future, and strengthen our bonds. Most recently, we gathered in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado, for our 2023 Summer Summit and here are a few of the themes that kept popping up.
Hybrid Work and Team Collaboration Matter
We were founded in 2021 when the hybrid and remote work world had become familiar to many. Fast forward two years and we still believe in the power of hybrid work. It’s allowed us to build a diverse team of talent working hybrid from our WeWork office in Denver and remotely across the country. And twice a year, we get to bring these amazing people together in an inspiring environment. It’s a place where we can unwind and recharge together. It’s an escape from the daily routine (and the heat for many of our team members!). Plus, it allows us to get off the Zoom calls and collaborate in a new environment that fosters creativity.
Planning for Continued Success (as a team) Matters
Being part of a fast-moving startup is truly a gift. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with a small team and we hope this experience will be a glowing piece in our team’s careers. A big part of that experience is influenced by our leadership team. It’s important to them that everyone gets a seat at the table (we even found a rental house with one big enough for all of us!) because every contribution matters. At the end of the day, each team member’s success is a reflection of our growth. Everyone has so much to learn and we want them to feel prepared for the bright future ahead.
At this point, you’re probably curious about how our time was spent this year in Breckinridge. We definitely made the most of our time together by packing three days full of engaging content. We discussed business strategy, personal goal development, new company perks, and brainstormed ways to set everyone up for success. We also made sure to set aside time for new experiences. We prepared delicious home cooked meals together and even experienced some heart-pumping adventures while riding side-by-sides up in the mountains.
Building Strong Relationships While Embracing Change Matters
Change is unavoidable in the fast-paced world of startups. This is why embracing change is a key focus for Ventura Growth. We love what we do and we’re excited about the journey ahead of us. Since our Winter Summit in Palm Springs this year, we’ve doubled in size and added two new departments. As our business continues to expand and more amazing individuals join the table, building and maintaining a foundation that supports strong relationships will also be crucial.
To foster better communication and understand our team’s strengths, we decided to complete the DiSC assessment. If you haven’t heard of it before, it helped us understanding the following areas:
- What motivates us as a team and individually in the workplace.
- How to improve workplace productivity, teamwork, and communication.
- How to embrace our unique strengths and differences.
- How to best help each other and offer support when in need.
Our discussion was incredibly inspiring! We’re already leveraging our DiSC results to supercharge meetings, level up our project planning, and celebrate our differences. We plan to have each new hire in the future complete the assessment and share the results to make sure we set everyone up for success. At the end of the day, we’re creating a working environment we can be proud of for years to come.
Our time at Breckenridge brought our entire team closer and more aligned than ever, laying a solid foundation for our growth over the next six months. The bonds we forged and the memories we created during our unforgettable Summer Summit 2023 will be cherished.
As we eagerly await our gathering in Winter 2024 (crossing fingers that it’s in a warm location), we envision celebrating numerous successes — achieving our goals, welcoming new team members, and eagerly anticipating another six months of Ventura Growth triumphs
